Our clear vinyl rolls, sometimes called marine vinyl, is one of our most interesting products. It’s a flexible material that’s waterproof and durable. You’ll often find our product used as boat windows, for porch enclosures, and barriers to ensure safe social distancing. But what we’re really excited to share about this product is its clarity. Let’s further discuss this useful material.
There are so many ways to use our clear vinyl rolls. Different gauges mean you can use these for a variety of applications – from apparel to construction. Here are just some suggestions, but your imagination is the only limit when working with this versatile product:
The benefits are not to be understated! Our material is:
Flexible – Easy to roll and install
Clear – For a polished look
Durable – Withstands extreme elements like cold and wind
Before jumping into your delivered vinyl roll, unroll the material and allow it to rest overnight before measuring and cutting. The material should rest, releasing any tension caused by rolling and shipment before use. Paper is often rolled in with the material to make it easier for you to handle. However, you should avoid storing your material with paper, as that can cause damage over time and will result in clarity loss.
What are clear vinyl rolls?
Clear vinyl rolls are sheets of plastic that are extruded into different thicknesses (also known as gauges). Of course, not all vinyl rolls are clear. Our product is very clear and there is nearly no distortion. Stabilizers and color additives are what makes clear vinyl truly clear.
Will clear vinyl melt?
Yes, at very high temperatures, this material will melt. While its flame retardant qualities keep it from spreading a fire, the material will still melt. This flame retardant quality helps meet commercial building codes, as well.
Does it shrink?
It will shrink between 1 to 3 percent over time. High heat temperatures will accelerate this process.
