Note: All denier nylon fabric material is sold by the linear yard. Most orders are shipped folded; certain items 10 yards or more will be shipped on a tube. If you need your order to ship on a tube, please click the box on the cart page. Primed artist canvas is the only item shipped on a tube regardless of length.

1000 denier nylon consists of high tenacity nylon yarn, plain woven fabric with a polyurethane coating, making it water repellent and extremely durable. Denier nylon is not as expensive as it’s Cordura version, but it has very similar properties. We use Cordura to refer to any hook and loop such as Velcro. As a result of this durability, military specified products often require Cordura. But for commercial uses, nylon canvas works just as well.

Due to its resistance to abrasion, high-strength, price and a variety of colors, denier nylon a popular choice for durable products. Especially relevant, 1050D ballistic nylon is also available for purchase.
In addition, nylon (polyamide) fiber was invented by the DuPont corporation.
