1050 Denier Ballistic Material

Ballistic material is a high tensile, durable fabric that is coated on one side with polyurethane. It is extremely strong, water repellent, and it has an interesting history of use. 1050 denier ballistic nylon typically only comes in darker colors, as it is very difficult to dye. This fabric also has excellent anti-abrasive properties. It’s basket weave helps with the longevity of the fabric.
Created by the DuPont Company, its first uses were for the military. The fabric was used for flak jackets for soldiers to assist in protection against injury from flying debris such as artillery shells. It is still currently used today by the military, but it has expanded into a variety of applications. In the end, this fabric can be the contender for several interesting projects.
