We all react both consciously and subconsciously to the environment in which we work, so it makes perfect business sense to create a pleasing and relaxing ambiance for all who enter the workplace.

A recent survey of over 800 employees working for 32 companies that currently display art within the workplace has revealed that it can be a valuable business asset. The survey, run via a collaboration of the Business Committee for the Arts (BCA) and the International Association for Professional Art Advisors (IAPAA) found;

78% of employees surveyed agree workplace art helps reduce stress.
94% agree it enhances the work environment.
84% agree it was evidence of their employer's interest in improving the quality of life in and out of the workplace.
64% agree it increases creativity and productivity.
67% agree it enhances morale.
82% indicated that art is important in the work environment.
73% wanted more art in their workplace, claiming it helps make them feel more 'motivated' and 'inspired.'

It's not just employees who see the benefit of art in the workplace, it also has a positive impact with visitors and customers. Well positioned artwork often becomes a talking point for visitors, and it helps promote the company moral image as it provides evidence of the company's interest in improving the working environment for their employees.
